Star Parties

Join the astronomy department for a free weekly public star party with one of two rooftop telescopes. The 16-inch reflector at the Physics, Math and Astronomy Building (PMA) is open on Wednesday nights and the 9-inch refractor at Painter Hall is open on Fridays and Saturdays.
 

Astronomy on Tap ATX

Astronomy on Tap ATX is held on the second or third Tuesday of every month at Celis Brewing at 7:30 pm. Founded in 2014, AoTATX is currently organized by a committee of Austin-based astronomers. Please check our Facebook for our next show!

McDonald Observatory is one of the world’s leading centers for astronomical research, teaching and public education and outreach. The Observatory is accessible to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 12-5 pm.
