Astronomy Colloquium

The Department of Astronomy hosts a weekly colloquium during the academic long semesters that invites a guest speaker to meet with faculty, researchers, postdocs, and graduate students and give a talk on their current research in their field of expertise.

Research Seminars

Research in the Astronomy program is loosely divided into five research groups designated as the Extragalactic, Interstellar, Planetary Systems, Stars, and Theory groups. To promote interaction between different research groups we have arranged two joint seminars: Galaxies and Cosmology on Mondays and Stars, Planets, and Interstellar Medium on Wednesdays. We have also set up the Cosmos Seminar for interdisciplinary talks that cut across the interest of many research groups.
