Abstract

In order to provide a source for target selection, the DESI project required imaging of 14000 sq. deg. of the sky in g, r and z. Three surveys were carried out for this purpose for which the final data release is upcoming.  After giving a brief overview of DESI, I will describe its associated imaging surveys, including our observing strategy, data reduction algorithms and our current data release, DR8.
