Abstract
Even though my Ph.D. research focused on MHD simulations of the sun applied to the study of sunspots, my intermittent career as a support astronomerhas resulted in fruitful collaborations in other topics like cosmology, galaxies, supernovae, and stellar magnetic fields.
In this talk, I will first summarize my scientific career, aiming to establish scientific collaborations and discussions. Afterwards, I will focus on McDonald Observatory, Mt. Locke, telescopes: the 107, the 82, the 36, and the 30 inches, and describe my new position there. My main goals are to get to know the current users and their input, and to also encourage new users to discover our systems.
Finally, I would like to have an open discussion on the users' needs for the observatory:
* what would you like to see moving forward?
* what would be your priorities?
* what would encourage you apply for time at the observatory?
* other ideas?
